1. If the lights aren't responding to RPM when it surpasses the levels that have been set, here are some things to look at. This assumes that the power is properly connected. The shift light should light up for a couple of seconds or go through a lighting animation sequence after powering on. If that doesn't happen, verify the power connections are correct and 12 volts is present at the red wire.
  2. With the shift light powered on (and item 1 has completed), connect to the app by pressing the "CONNECT" text at the top center of the screen. The phone should vibrate and the shift light should flash white.
  3. With the engine running, if the RPM reads "0", then the shift light is not receiving a useable signal. This could be due to an incorrect connection or an incompatible signal. NOTE: if you have coil-on-plug or similar ignition, you may need an adapter such as the MSD 8918 or Auto Meter 9117. Not all CoP need this, but many do as well as other distributorless ignitions.
    1. For later model vehicles, especially newer than 2006, you may want to use the OBD-II Bluetooth module recommended on the Trac-Pac Shift Light web page
